One of my all-time faves. 🙂 At the Plan 9 Publications table at Dragon*Con, we had a great big banner of this one on the front of the table and a MicroSoft employee (or at least, he claimed to be) spent about 20 minutes promising me that XP was going to put the era of crashing computers behind us forever.

For what it’s worth, XP was much better than anything that came before it. Why they followed it up with Vista, is anybody’s guess.

Hey, Vista’s not so bad, now that it has SP2! My computer is perfectly stable (unless I try overclocking anything, though I have a feeling that’s the crappy Biostar mobo in it). My only issue with it is trying to sort out permission issues on partitions on a 500GB hard drive that were used with Win7 originally. Most folders are fine now, but I still can’t save to my “Pictures” folder without elevating whatever program I’m using to Administrator level.

        it’s an epic fail OS

    And ME was just horrible!

Hey! My Grandma had an ME computer! Then, when she bought a brand new Win7 computer, she didn’t know what to do with it!

    Windows ME = “Mistake Edition”
Windows 7 is ‘ok’ but for some things Vista IS superior. I have dual boot set up (OK multi-boot, with XP, Vista, 7, Fedora 12) so I can run what I want when I want. However, when I had ME, it was just about like Dover is running in this strip, which is when I came up with the saying, “next re-boot, I use steel toed boots!”

All this talk of windows 7 reminds me just how out of date my computer really is XD
